Excellent thoughts. Corporations are large groups of people with disparate levels of power, mostly vested in a very few at the top. I think the systems put in place that have allowed US citizens to be spied upon to any degree or incredibly dangerous and antithetical to core American values of success.

It would depend on whether or not the indie film company had struck lucky gold or was capable of repeating. Anytime Disney is beaten by a competitor it is a bad look for them... but multiply that by ten if it were done by an indie.

I think it has the potential to decline for a variety of reasons. One significant barometer to watch is the performance of Inside Out 2 at the box office. Disney+ subscribers will also matter to some degree... though hitting profitability for all of DTC is the do-or-die for Disney.

On your note about needing conservative and classical liberal voices in an organization, the older I get the more I am questioning “traditional” conservative golden cows like corporations are people. Corporations are good . Etc etc. this example of the California laws for protection , originally communist, I find interesting. As a child of the 80s and a Army veteran watching Team America , I am finding myself thinking FISA warrants to patriot act are all worth questioning. As iron sharpens Iron, we need to find the ability to have civil discord.

I’m listening to Ron Coleman opining generally on the Gina Carano case, and ISTM the primary problem for Disney is the gender inequity angle. There was the guy who posted largely the same type of opinions as her, but he kept his job. Hadn’t realized California’s law was designed to provide protection for Communists! That was fascinating.
