Concerning the gang from the early scene not yet having gotten the memo that they should be running from Batman - I note that the two guys who freak out and run for it are alone, while these guys and these guys only are in a group. They may well be apprehensive about the situation, but a) they have all their bros around to give them confidence and b) they sure won't want to look bad in front of said bros by acting scared. So it makes sense that Batman has more work to do to put the fear of himself into this lot.

I LOVED the Batmobile scene too, but I actually do think talking about them could have contributed to your thesis! In particular, I remember how struck I was by how the Batmobile in the car chase scene is just as SCARY as Vengeance is in his first fight scene. It's first engine revving noises are treated the same way as Vengeance's first footsteps, it's road rage moves are like Vengeance's punches, and - most importantly - it is probably the most DIRECT instance of this "constant forward motion" motif you point out! The way it weaves through the traffic jam while Penguin gets stuck, the way Penguin looks back ever more frantically to see it getting closer and closer, and the way it freaking RAMPS OVER AN EXPLODING TRUCK right when he thinks he's finally stopped it completely...it all speaks to this same theme, and significantly contributes to this Batman's characterization as efficient, smart, and indomitable.

On the topic of Superman fights against other Kryptonians, an interesting advantage I’ve heard for him is that, while he doesn’t have the fight training the likes of Zod have, he’s had his powers longer, and had more experience in actual use of abilities like laser eyes and freeze breath.
