And it would always be parked in am oil slick

Imagine if the British had built your skid steer. It would be a mix of Whitworth/British thread forms and BSP/metric pipe fittings. Also the battery would be conveniently mounted underneath the engine so replacing it would require pulling the engine out. And it would be positive ground.

Interesting. I guess they are kind of hand built in low volumes.

Yes the 1845 C case is really a nice machine. Problem is everybody now wants heat and air conditioning, the hydraulic bucket latch so they don't have to get out of the machine and a warranty. That's why some of these loaders are $70,000.

We were actually the Thomas dealer in 2001 in Omaha Nebraska. The loader arms were really stiff it was almost impossible to operate it. We put our best mechanic on it and he took everything apart and lubed it as it was brand new. We sent it back to Thomas and said we didn't want to be the dealer anymore. It's a nice machine if you can get anything to work. Wes I know you can fix it.

Yeah porcupines dont look like they are to be messed with.

And porcupines :)

Well, "cheap" is a very relative term in skid steer. US$35K would be "cheap" for that Case, for instance.

Maybe you're lucky and they didn't remove the original part numbers on the parts. I had a marine Kubota once (nanni), for the starter you could either go to the tractor supply and buy a cup cadet xyz starter or to the car parts store and buy one for a '79 Toyota Corolla. The price difference was huge.

Case construction equipment is all pretty good IMO.

I have a feeling we are going to find out.

I already talked to them about it!

Sometimes I forget that it's 60 years old.

We have an 1845C we use daily. Great machine. Can really take a beating.

Had a look just for fun, thomas has some manuals online and the next dealer is in Macon, IL, HOGAN GRAIN & EQUIPMENT, 200 miles away, maybe an option for shipping.

I have looked into my crystal ball, I see diesel, I see injection pump and the mists are clearing, I see a city Carlinville, I see some initials, I see an A, a D, a 5 no it's a S

Usually when a primate leaks fluids from every orifice, it's got Ebola. It sounds like your tractor caught a bad dose or it's just worn out...
Redwood Mark
Nice

That was a long time ago. Maybe it was lost.

Was that a fastback mustang I saw when you were moving the trailer around?

Just stay away from shipping containers.

You will be dragging an old bulldozer home next and then start each video with "today me and Max are on this job". Thats when the downward spiral of fixing things with chainsaws starts lol. Seriously though it looks like a decent machine im sure you will have it up to spec in no time.

You throw oil into it...

If a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into, what is a skid steer?
Watch Wes Work
Case makes a nice machine. The Thomas is more a poor man's Bobcat, which isn't necessarily bad.

It's a good one! Thanks again!

We have a Thomas T133 at the mill, it's old but it's always gotten the job done, that said the engine is tired and needs to be replaced, fortunately you can get a Kubota authorized rebuilt engine for $6,000 Canadian so it will probably get a new engine in the future perhaps, in the meantime it's been replaced with a Case 430 and I'm pretty happy with that. Nothing against the Thomas shes a good machine too.
Eric Corse
I figured a spare one would be good, Good luck on the engine.

I'm going to need a lot of magic

Looking forward to this video. What could go wrong 😂. I’m sure you will work your manic and have it running in no time.
