As a redhead kid who talked too much and had too much imagination, Anne of Green Gables was one of my favorite stories. I'm old enough that "my" version is the 1980s tv one, but I am loving this version! This Anne is exactly how I always pictured her.

I feel like Rob is a bit Marilla, always alternating between being exasperated by Anne's intensity, and loving her a lot nonetheless, and cringing but laughing at her occurrences! It's the "awww, Anne... okay, well, oof, that's too much, Anne... but also aww"

oh my heart!! i love the difference in marilla, how she went from having absolutely zero patience for anne and her...quirks. but then at the end of this episode, she endulges her quite a bit in the writing and rewriting of her name. like to go from zero patience to endulging her a little and allowing her to just be in that moment...i feel like that was almost a bigger step than the apology in a way. it's like she's seeing her and accepting her. she doesn't see her as the annoying kid she probably thought at the start. she's seeing the beautiful, passionate, and bright person anne is; and is allowing her to be that. i just love that scene so very much!
