ouh i could write an entire essay on this episode. i love it so much. from royjamie (of course), to the posters on jamie's room alluding to his bisexuality (!), to the callbacks - "sexy little baby", just like jamie called himself in 1x06, roy kent poster, jamie being serenaded by the stadium as he walks off the pitch in a similar way roy did in 1x12, etc. - to the beard/nate moment that was imo beard's best scene, to jamie & ted both forgiving their parental figure for themselves, and while jamie wanted to say "fuck you" and "thank you" to his father but couldn't, ted did... to the last song lyrics saying "same time, same place, next year" as the next scene shows rebecca and ted at the same time, same place, like the last two years, only the frame is reversed because this time ted is the one with the truth bomb !!!! every single moment was perfect.phil dunster's acting also blew me away, but one moment that'll never not get me is on the pitch - every second he's so close to breaking down, and then he's cheered on by everyone and he's feeling so much.
