"...because their personalities are both mid at best." So, in other words, they're more compatible. (Plus, we've seen Conrad on his good days. He's cute and his energy matches hers perfectly.) I don't think Belly was expecting to be love bombed, but her failing to put himself in his shoes, coupled with Conrad's struggle with reaching out/communicating are what did them in. If this weren't a fictional story, I could see Belly and Jere being end game, but it's far too obvious that Conrad and Belly are the end game here.

Conrad and Belly are the logically better match but only because their personalities are both mid at best. Jeremiah’s lines could be real cringey at times but he’s overall a lot more likable and charming than sad boy Conrad is. All shade is directed at Belly for expecting so much love and attention from Conrad while his mom was literally dying but he was just not the emotionally available one of the two brothers that really wanted and needed her comfort. Jeremiah really needs someone to match his energy so Belly is more end game suited for Conrad.
