i could see that, but i think she knows that ziggy has pretty bad temper issues and she had like a dream of him standing over her, i’m pretty sure. anyway, i don’t think that Jane 100% truly believes that Ziggy is innocent and non violent, i think she’s super scared of him having any resemblance to his father

same, like I lowkey despise the way that she's approaching the Ziggy/amabella situation, but after you go through trauma like that, I can understand how she wants to believe with all her heart that her son doesn't turn out violent like her r*pist

For some context: The book that this show is based on is originally set in Australia. The fact that Jane coincidentally moved to the same town as her rapist seems slightly more probable than in the States.
