The magic for the vampires is constantly keeping them alive, fueling them, while with Jeremy it was a one and done thing.
Halima
I guess it’s because the magic isn’t what’s keeping him alive, it already brought him back
Amber Augustine
Maybe not to you, but it is shaming. I think Caroline was acting insensitive when she said that about Elena and that’s why Liz corrected her on that. There is many different stages of grief and Caroline needs to understand that. She was the one in the wrong there, and Liz made sure to tell her that.
Jane Thomas
it doesnt sound like shaming to me. If my friend loves a person so much and barely shows any emotion when they are dead ill be astonished and concerned and talk about that with my trusted person. you are right-everyone grieves in different ways. but caroline is elena's friend who saw her going through each death and saw how she reacts to it. Thats why she said elena was depressed for months after bonnie died. So naturally caroline is frustrated and concerned why she's not showing any response to damon's death.
Amber Augustine
Once again, not the moment I was talking about. It’s about when she’s talking to Liz in the beginning before the drugs part.
Goat
What was she supposed to do agree with what she was doing? it was in broad daylight in the middle of the street

my favorite season, im so excited!!
Amber Augustine
Nope it was before she find out about the drugs. She was shaming Elena because she barely cried for damon in her grieving process. That’s the moment I was talking about.
Bri
It bothers me so much that Jeremy is in mystic falls when he’s been brought back to life twice with magic. Not to mention all the times the ring brought back both Jeremy and Matt

Tripp was the dad on TSITP

she saw elena almost draining a person to death. and then find out she is taking drugs to hallucinate. As a friend i think her reaction is pretty valid
TK
I’m not a big fan of Caroline in general. I have a love-hate relationship with her and it’s because her character is always so Elena focused. Like Care can’t seem to go a single episode without saying something about Elena or her love life or talking to someone about Elena behind her back. It’s annoying, and it’s annoying in this episode as well, but I’m glad Liz was there to tell Caroline to give Elena a break.
TK
Exactly. I think this was her final straw and yea the immortality aspect of it made everything so much worse
Melanie
rob's face when that bamon scene started JFJFJFKKE

It makes so much sense why everyone is separated from each other. Damon and Bonnie were an essential part to the group. Stefan lost his brother, Elena lost her bf and best friend, and everyone is trying their best to handle their pain but it’s so difficult.
Halima
apart from stefan and Alaric literally ALL of them have known Bonnie since childhood and I can’t get one tear?? 😭
Amber Augustine
I was definitely not a fan of how mad Caroline got over Elena’s grieving process. She has to understand that there’s no right or wrong way to handle losing someone and I’m glad Liz talked to her about that.
Halima
I think it’s a combination of how much she loved Damon and the fact that she’s already lost so many people so having this one on top of all the rest was just too much. There’s also the fact that she gravitates towards vampires because their immortality makes her feel like she’ll never lose them, so for Damon to die must’ve triggered all the trauma she has related to loss even more than the previous ones.
I.H.W.T
No fr cause they was paying my girl dust😭😭
TK
I do feel kinda annoyed that the show doesn’t particularly show us anyone being sad over Bonnie being gone besides Jeremy. Although I do think it’s okay as we already saw them all grieve in S5. I guess I just wish we saw a scene between Care and Jeremy/Matt talking about how they miss Bonnie
TK
I never liked how Bonnie only appears in one scene throughout the episode. They could’ve had Elena hallucinate her like Damon said in the car. I guess the writers really wanted to push the narrative of Damon being a bigger loss to Elena than anyone else, even her parents
TK
Yea it’s really interesting. This episode really depicts just how big of a loss she’s gone through with Damon. When her parents first died, she handled it a lot better than the average person would have, but now she has to use drugs in order to feel semi-okay. Losing Damon seems to be worse than losing everyone else beforehand
Halima
Considering Elena spent the first few episodes in s1 trying to stop Jeremy using, it’s really sad to see her turn to drugs to cope with her grief just like he did :(
Lisa
I love Damon and Bonnie
Halima
It’s fucked up to say but I was kinda glad at least 1 person was broken over Bonnie being gone 💀

One of my favorite seasons of the entire show. I loved this premier, I felt so bad for Elena, she was trying to act like she was okay but her relying on a magic drug to put a pause on her grief was very unhealthy. The person I feel the most for out of all of this though is Stefan, he lost the most important person to him. I can't blame him for wanting to turn his back on everything and move on. As usual Nina acted her ass off but I also really loved Paul's silent grief and suffering he displayed in the episode as well. Stefan tries to cover but you could actually see it in every scene how much pain he is in. Really good acting from both of them.
Amber Augustine
It’s so heartbreaking when Elena tries so hard to let him go in the crypt but she couldn’t deal with reality and breaks down. Nina does such an amazing portrayal of expressing elena’s grief and the stages you go through when someone you love is gone.
Amber Augustine
I loved it when Elena said to damon, “you gave me passion, adventure, everything I ever wanted.” The same thing damon said to her when they first met. It’s such a bittersweet parallel.
Salma
Nina do be looking extra fine this season!!
Halima
LOL I’m so glad you guys watched the behind the scenes clip of Kat Graham and Ian Somerhalder post-finale, it was so funny 😂
Amber Augustine
I feel so bad for Elena. She spent 4 months hallucinating damon because she couldn’t cope with the reality her bf is gone. She goes through so much grief it’s insane. 😭
Jessica Licas
one of my fav season ✨
TK
This is my favorite Elena centric episode. I love watching her deal with everything about Damon’s death
