I hear what you're saying and I understand that but my point was him (Des) just using "She pays for my phone" is not a good excuse! That was more so where my backbone comment came from. And I think the way Ryah handled the Devi situation was wrong and she could've done it in a more mature way. I understand wanting the best for your child and fearing that maybe someone they are seeing may affect their future but I don't like how it was handled.

I think it’s because you guys don’t understand ethnic parents and it’s clear by the boys reactions that they don’t either. It’s much deeper than just “I want to date her Susan, stay out my business.” Ethnic kids FEAR their parents. I follow an Indian woman on TikTok who was disowned for dating a black man in high school. Despite now having a family of 8 with that same man, her mother has not embraced the idea of them together or her children. I also don’t think Rhyah was wrong in her assessment about Devi. From her perspective, Devi is a troublesome kid with a lot of trauma. At some point in the show she’s hurt literally everyone in her life. And only maintains those relationships because the plot calls for it. In real life, she’d probably never get Aneesa to be friends with her again. The same goes for Paxton, probably Ben, Elenor and Fabiola. I’ve seen people break friendships for much less

Is it bad I still like Ethan more than Des though…😬😅 I just think Des had no backbone and I dunno maybe I’m biased because I adore Michael who plays Ethan but yeah idc because Ben will always be number 1🤣😅
