So to answer Zuff's question, as a vampire enjoyer, The idea that vampires can't enter homes uninvited actually comes from Eastern European folklore from when people genuinely believed vampires existed. It was believed that the home was sacred and that there was a symbolic barrier that would protect them and that "evil" needed to be invited in and let into your life.
