I think they got rid of Olivia cause of the hate she was getting from the fans. I remember seeing a lot of negative comments stating she can’t act etc… her dying and ruby not doesn’t make sense. Also Jamal is definitely one of my favs, he so hilarious and makes this show🤣

The actress who played Olivia wasn’t Latino at all and was actually racist. She played Jenna Ortega’s older sister on a Disney show and Jenna exposed her for the things she said. The cast of that show and of On My Block did not like her at all. So it was super intentional coming into season 2 for the writers to kill her off and have a joke at her expense.
