From everything I’ve heard or briefly read about Badiou or that text he wrote on communism that you linked to in that older pill pod episode, I find him to be one of the most boring continental philosophers, the most boring 20th century French one tbh. That his primary focus is on truth, maths and religion doesn’t help in this regard either. Still,

hard to follow in detail over all, but when something ‘made sense’ to me, Badiou is an interesting position. Kinda purgative. It’s said about Wittgenstein too (purgative). I’ll have to give it a second listen.

Just going to point out that if humanities departments are spending more on grad students that's a point against them. STEM departments are likely paying less because students are getting externally funded scholarships to finance their living expenses.

Anti/philosophy makes me think of applied/fine art. I was switching out the terms during the wrap up and it worked fairly well. And maybe I'm being overly convergent but we know what Baudrillard says about fine art
