The Battle of Dead Man's Cove [PDF]
🕑 Added 2023-07-20 00:22:16 +0000 UTC…Come, let us drink it while we have breath,
For there's no drinking after death.
And he that will this health deny,
Down among the dead men, down among the dead men,
Down, down, down, down;
Down among the dead men let him lie!
-"Down Among the Dead Men", English drinking song
I get a lot of requests for more naval combat content, especially for Pirate Borg. As always, us salty sea dogs aim to please, so I proudly present The Battle of Dead Man's Cove, a short, pamphlet style adventure for Pirate Borg. The map is released in tandem with a new battle map for the "boss" location in the adventure, Dead Man's Grotto. I also suggest using the Oceans, Islands, & Sailing Ships release for water backgrounds.
This adventure has been written with short one- or two-shot gaming sessions, and even includes a suggested timeline for running it in under 3 hours.

Your players start with a small fleet of ships, and they must overcome a bone ship, a cave full of skeletons, and finally they must escape 2 ghosts and a leviathan.

The Quartermaster and Captain rewards are the same for this release. and there is no free version online (see below). Admirals will have access to a new Foundry Module.
If you haven't already checked it out, our quartermaster Tyler made an amazing tutorial video on Pirate Borg Naval combat: https://youtu.be/EkXYc0KViMY

Harbourmaster Dave reporting for duty!

It’s designed to teach larger scale naval combat. I’d give each player a ship and but the 4th on the frigate. Then at the end, you can have the leviathan sink two of them if you don’t want them to have 3 ships after the adventure. Or scale down to one or two ships, and just lower the HP and damage output of the other ships.
Marian
For how many players is this optimised for? I feel like giving 3 ships to 4 players might be a bit too much?

I am 1,000% interested interested in being a Harbourmaster!

I am totally going to run this.
