Those "new" versions of classic TV shows remind me of current Simpsons. Here's how I see it: At some point in the late 90's The Simpsons as we know it ended and was then immediately revived as "The New Adventures of The Simpsons." It has no purpose beyond trying to emulate the original series and is occasionally entertaining. It has now been running for about 25 years.

No way there aren't five seasons (sorry, "series") of a detective show called "Steeplechase" available on BritBox.

"She's Got It Maid" threw me because I forgot that "We've Got It Maid" was the title of that show, one of my minor obsessions was looking into that portion of the 1980s-early 1990s TV wasteland made up of low-rent sitcoms, produced directly for syndication or in cases like Charles in Charge and "Maid", revived for syndication after getting the boot from a network. Connor could have thrown some of the titles of those at Mike and added a little confusion. My own bilious fascination with that era stems in part from how hackneyed, corny and stereotypical those shows were - you read descriptions and episode summaries and they sound like parodies of bad sitcoms. This includes all of the revamps and such of older sitcoms, like "The Munsters Today", "Still the Beaver" (Jerry Mathers is Beaver Cleaver. back to living in his old house...with his mom.), "The New Monkees", "The New Gidget" and "The New WKRP in Cincinnati".
