Idk .. Ultimately you look at them each year and say well they kinda overachieved. You could argue Dame and CJ are who they are and they don’t have the size or want to defend. So let’s just double down on the offense.. which I guess is how they end up playing anyway! I think they both just save all their juice for offense, that’s why they are so good in ISO’s and that’s Also why Melo fit in.

In the past, we’ve seen Dame lay down in a series against the Warriors (17) after the 4th quarter comeback in game one and he seemed to emotionally show he knew they didn’t have it. Fortunately for this series against the Lakers, he’s now so entranced with his own narrative, that in combination with LA so heavily favored, Portland is gonna treat each game like game 7. Dame knows in this series, in comparison to 2017, if he pushes it to 6 games and puts up 30 a game he is essentially victorious, at the least within the legend of his own narrative. It’s an interesting equation considering the Lakers have the two best players, but the Blazers have the two best guards. I think it’s more than unlikely the Blazers prevail, but if they could muster an upset, what that could do for the narrative of ranking players, especially with a comparison between guys like AD and Dame.

The blazers always seem to run an idiotic defensive scheme. 2019: "Come on Steph and Klay, prove us you can hit wide open 3's" 😂 On another note, I keep forgetting that Whiteside plays for Portland, isn't this a contract hear for him? I hope he plays out of his mind in the playoffs.

How blazers untilize Nuric will be one of the main factors if they can over come the Lakers. Dame will probably (hopefully not) get tired mid way thru the series. I'm excited to see how Melo comes out and plays. Hope he has a stand out game!
