June 2016 Sumary
🕑 Added 2016-07-03 22:50:18 +0000 UTC Hello Everyone!This month I made some slight changes to the milestones; We are still using the gauge system, but I added some goals for bonus pages leading up to the full 2 times a week milestone. Breaking it down just makes it seem less daunting and might encourage new people to join in, rather than seeing the double update milestone and being like "naah never happening."
Also, if any of you have been keeping an eye on the pledge amount, it fluctuated a lot. That's because, once again, a Troll was among us. The Patreon team was contacted and they've been blacklisted and blocked. Which bring me to a question I want to ask you all: Should I enable the Upfront payment? This, technically, doesn't affect any of the patrons that already been here for at least a month, and eliminate possible trolling, but I still feel I'd check out with you as this is irreversible. Charge upfront makes more sense if you've got people drinking from the proverbial well for free. Doesn't seem to impact anyone else that much.
That article was rather indirect, but still better than the article for patreons <a href="https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/208404313" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/208404313</a> which doesn't even mention existing patreons. So in short, existing Patreons won't have to pay one month double. Trolls will be charged for real. And new folks as well as upgraders will get their rewards immedieately. Sounds good so far. The downside would be, that the artist can't opt out easy either in case something comes between him and the rewards. Formerly one could adjust the rewards and message the patreons about it, so they can adjust their pleges if the feel the need to, or continue with their old pledge for the new reward willingly. Also artists who suddenly take a month off can choose not to collect pledges with the old system. So in the end, I'm ok with it. Newcommers should be fine too, as your system is fair anyway. Immediate access like always, just the need to make honest pledges and no checking stuff out for free. Which is more fair to the existing patreons.

I'd say go for the upfront payment. Everyone who gets here has plenty of options to see what you do, so the payment doesn't take place in a vacuum that could leave people unsatisfied. It doesn't take away from anyone besides the people out to "harm" others - and Patreon does put a big notice on it, so nobody will be caught off guard.

I personally say yes, to charge upfront. Although, I do wonder... So please clarify since the page doesn't seem to point it out. So A patreon that joins your patreon will pay right away. But what about those that are already in? Does the charge upfront is only for the new patreon? Or will it charge everyone at the start of the month instead of at the end
