well in my opinion this totaly needs not be part of teh storie, i liked the way its about fairies and other creatures, not having this turned into modern version of ww2, whats next a nuclear bomb ? if they have old stuff from long ago, i can asume they ahve those kind of weapons, sorry thats not for me , it totaly takes away the fun i have reading the storie, if i want to read about things like this , i wil read some other books.

Actually it makes some sense. If the older fairies were able to fight to a stand still some of that technology would probably still be around. I bet the star fairies keep secrets from the other island fairies.

Uuuuhh...techlevel jump anyone? Holy crap we go from trains at *most* to *railguns* and VTOLS! this isn't 'keeping things from them' this is ensuring a position of dominance/control via forcing the other fairies to live in much lower tech means.
