Grow another brain somewhere else? Get really, really thick armor? Decentralize the nervous system, removing the need for a brain altogether? There's ways about it.
Well it's been mentioned that this thing could destroy seatown easily, but we'll learn a bit more later.

So... I don't think it's been explained yet why the Star Fairies are killing this thing, but since we've been seeing them in action for the last few pages, we do at least know that they have a lot more magic and tech than what we've seen locally so far.
