Not Just Bikes

I tried to work through Steffen to get Arcadis to help with the video (behind the scenes, access too non-public areas) but they didn't see the value in working with a "youtuber" 🙄 so I didn't mention them. Their loss!

I knew which ad it would be before even clicking on it. :) It's quite old now (several decades). The creator of it has said that he's happy if it's used online to discourage car use, but I haven't used it because it's unclear who actually owns the copyright on it.

Hey Jason, can I just say how cool it is to read (on LinkedIn) Arcadis architect, Tom Kramer's appreciation of your video on the Driebergen-Zeist station. He is clearly thrilled to learn that someone noticed the care and attention that was given to the details of that station. An excerpt: "Work of a transit architect is best if it's not drawing too much attention to itself, but feels natural and logical, serving to smoothen the end users experience and promoting the public-transport use. That these things are mentioned here is humbling, but also shows the keen eye of the reporter #not_just_bikes here noticing such easily overlooked details we put into the design. Details needed to reach a level that apparently draws an international urbanist-fan to notice a small station in a small country. It just makes me proud of our work and our Dutch public transport system." (I saw this because I follow Steffen Berr over there.)

I didn't know about this commercial that was meant to sell cars but is remembered for illustrating how space-consuming cars are, and now that I know of it, you need to use it in a video at your earliest opportunity :p . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_oWmY_mkCA&ab_channel=EliyahuBiton

Meanwhile my home station is a side platform on a single track wedged between an elevated highway and an enormous waterfront parking lot with an abandoned “bus transfer” station
