【Poll】 Should Patreon reflect 5,000-word chapters?

So, I've been saying since Sharing the Night finished that I would be moving the Patreon to match the 5,000 word chapters I'm actually writing now. Obviously, all goal and reward tiers would be cut in half if I did this, but it would be up to each individual patron to actually change their pledges to reflect the change.
This is kind of a big issue.
I respect and appreciate all of your pledges, and the absolute last thing I want to do is to have someone look in on things six months down the line and realize they're being charged double what they signed up for.
If I do this, I will be retiring the current tiers and creating new ones. The hidden tiers would be grandfathered in to receive benefits one tier higher than they currently receive, just in case. This would, however, mean that current tier one backers would be getting tier two benefits for significantly less. That sounds great to me, since it would encourage tier one backers to stay in their grandfathered tier, but it would undermine current tier two backers and I wouldn't blame them if they dropped a tier before the change. I'd definitely announce the change beforehand explicitly so they can do that, but it just… makes things more complicated than I'd like
It's just an awkward situation all around.

I really appreciate that. With only a third of patrons responding to this poll, though, I think I'm going to have to stick to 10k chunks anyway.

Well, should you change to 5k per month, I will adjust to $10 per 5k with no monthly limit. I can budget $40 a month, and I do wish to encourage you to continue to write beyond Sharing a Kingdom and Sparkling Perfection.

I'm not too worried about missing deadlines now that I'm managing my wordcount goals on a daily instead of monthly basis. With editing days thrown in, I'm aiming for 20k per month, and if that means you need to put a maximum on your pledge, then you do what's right for you. As it is, the first 10k is the most important part since that covers my necessities, and I don't see myself missing that deadline unless something big comes up that I need to deal with.

True. I guess the monthly thing is less of an issue when I'm reliably getting chapters out every month.

I like the monthly option. But would my current pledge of $20 per 10K words undersell you if I made it $20 a month? The nice thing about a monthly pledge consistent income for your work, so that missing a deadline by a few words won't hurt you. The above is another viable choice, I go to $10 per 5 k with a maximum of $30 a month if you go on a writing tear.

People can modify their pledges to set a monthly limit, so a person could set so they pay a maximum of 2 or 3 times a month.

It occurred to me right after hitting post that I should have included a "switch to monthly" option, too, since that has been mentioned before. Feel free to mention that in the comments, but I'd have to see some real leanings in that direction in order to consider it. The per-words pledges have been a real incentive to get me up to the 1k-per-day schedule I've managed to reach in the last month.
