This! Like I've been on both sides as, Andy and Mark from the previous pages. What this does for me is show what Andy knows and feels that no one else does. Andy has defended Coop many times, but as a reader I just wasn't seeing enough to really understand what Andy knew to justify always defending Coop the way he has. This put it clear as day. I still disagree with Andy and how he turns a blind eye, but I've been that guy, I know that it comes from a good place, you want to protect and help, even if the result isn't actually good for that person. (Enabling rather than confronting/helping fix the issues.)

I definitely do not condone the invasion of privacy, but I'm glad that Andy was able to gain some insight into Cooper's struggle. It also sheds light on Andy's unwillingness to sever ties with Cooper, even after all the years of mistreatment.

Geez.... Good job Andy... But its surprising that Coop keeps a journal. Its a good step towards proper self help. But he probably still needs a good therapist or friend to talk to about those sorts of things objectively.
