New Tripod Textures & Walk Animation Previews
🕑 Added 2023-01-24 04:58:04 +0000 UTCEldeBH: Hey guys, We felt like breaking the silence and I'm finally at a point where I'm happy to show off my progress on the tripod model and textures. I've been looking very meticulously at the movie to make sure I could get every visible detail into the textures. Many so small you might not even notice them in these renders. I've also been working on a walk cycle (First 2 gifs) and have been figuring out the shaders for the hood lights of which you can see a preview. I'd like to thank @Ev's for pulling apart his model kit and scanning every little piece for me I needed as shape reference. Furthermore @Joe Mama for giving me 4K reference when I needed it and @Raf for allowing me to work on this project. I want to thank all of you for your patience, I hope you will consider the results worth the wait.
Raf: Now that @EldeBH is wrapping up the new incredible tripod model , I have begun recreating all the new animations to be used in game on the new rig. I've wanted to take this chance to improve on the previous animations and make them as good as I can to do the model justice. I've almost wrapped up the new walk cycle that will be used in the game and am happy enough with it to show it to you guys (Last 4 gifs). I will be putting a ton of attention to detail and trying to make the animations as good as I can.

Walking animation has the correct kinda sway and heaviness to it. Just gotta work on the toes a little. Otherwise this looks absolutely incredible. You have outdone yourself... also one suggestion. My mom and i are huge sci fi nerds and we noticed a lack of any and all corn fields in the map... we noticed over a few years that a good amount of alien films have corn fields. E.T was found in a corn field, superman grew up near corn fields, signs takes place at a corn field, chicken little has a corn field... just something about corn attracts aliens. My mom and i thought it would be a funny nod to the aliens in corn fields trope

This is just amazing. Walking animations still need some work but that model is just perfection. I think the side lights come up too far on the hood on the front, should be stopping at that last window but this is still some amazing progress!

It’s so mesmerizing and awe inspiring to see this progress. And I was just about to go to bed too, glad I didn’t miss this right when it released. Just stellar work, I especially love the movement and you’ve really nailed those erie color lights on the sides. Keep it up but take all the time you need break’s included. Your masterful work for this project is more than worth the wait.
