Update to the NO Train - Hikari
🕑 Added 2022-10-28 03:04:41 +0000 UTCJust thought I would give a small update as I have finished the interior plus the middle "connector" gangway of the train. I have also naming it Hikari, which stands for light, kind of represent the train able to travel as quick as light. Hope that's doesn't sound too cheesy :)
I've got a lot more to do for the train but this civilian version is nearly done, I'm thinking about having different types of trains much like what we have in real life. And this train is screaming to be weaponized! Who wants a monorail train raining down fire from above like an AC130?
Still trying to see how I can deliver this as Patreon/MMF release though as releasing this in one shot seem too much but if I don't I'm not sure how everyone likes the idea of getting partial each month. Let me know your thoughts though!
The Ishikawa will be launching on Nov 1st if all goes as planned. You will be getting the base set in 4 releases starting December, each release will come with some exclusive pieces just a way for me to say thank you to you all.

Yup I've decided to release whatever I have now for December, a nice Christmas appreciation release. Might be a good promo idea as well to release a train for Christmas. So the Ishikawa building will be pushed out until a couple more releases for the train like car 2/3 and station as mentioned. I'm not sure about other tracks since I have yet to figure out how to design it to make it go around the curved tracks so for now it will only be a straight line kind of thing. Hope that's ok.

I was wondering if you could include the same minimal set each month+some part of the cool stuff ie basic track brackets so: Month 1. Basic Track brackets and mini car1. Month 2. Basic Track brackets, track, and platform (not a full station) Month 3. Basic Track brackets and mini car2 (combines with mini car for a full car) Month 4. Station facilities Month 5. Basic Track brackets, advanced track, and work car (combines with other cars to mak e a locomotive) Not that you need to spread out over 5 month please. So, missing the track you have a train system playable by putting the car on the table for combat/interior battles. Missing one of the cars you have a less interesting train, print multiples if you want to control the size. Missing the work car you have no visible engines etc etc.

I'm still okay with it as long as all the pieces are released over sequential months. Not really any different to getting the entirety of the Neo Osaka series over multiples months. Most of us are here for the long haul anyway right, anyone who needs it all in one hit can buy it outright from the shop.

Hikari is actually a real name of one of the shinkansen trains in Japan. I personally traveled on that one and even not by speed of light, but damn, this train is truly fast! ;)

Partial pieces spread out over months makes it feel like you’re saying, “if you want this thing then you have no choice but to keep subscribing until I decide to finish sending pieces out.” Kind of like you’re dangling it over peoples’ heads.
