Remember Liv barely understands authority so even if you are correct she wouldn't know for certain. There also may be ways to give enchantments authority or the ability to resist other authorities. He may be able to reinforce them in some way. She simply doesn't know enough to gamble her life on being able to get through the shield that way.

Ancient technologically advanced machinery sounds like such a perfect place to get the hang of stormless lightning, though...

> but she suspected that would pit her Authority against his Why would he even have [Authority] ? He appears to be just triggering enchantment sigils powered by mana-stone. He isn't a mage who is executing [Silent Casting].

> A sphere of adamant ice encased her, strong as steel and much more pure...As Liv had learned through experimentation six years ago, training on the beach at Freeport, it was enough to protect her from a lightning strike at close proximity. Warning! [Story Error] Detected! She didn't have [Adamant Ice] at the time. It was just thick normal ice. The [Adamant Ice] should shrug off a single lightning strike without being cracked.

Tarrim

At least with her current knowledge. You've got that lightning staff from a few chapters ago. Also if she can find a way to generate the charge below ground it would work.

Grayson

So Luc is limited to being above ground…

Glad to see, that after nearly getting blown to total smithereens by Livara - and in doing so, surely reactivating the vestigial part of his brain that once controlled his sphincter - Karis refers to her as the line of a God instead of a daughter of slaves. I do kind of like Karis' slimy, or perhaps more appropriately, oily persona. While I hope Liv kicks his ass, I'm hoping there's a roomba or something they can shove his brain in at the college, so he can drive around the campus throwing slurs at the students. Once again, awesome chapter!

LOL. Nah, I wasn't gonna go that far. We can hear about the coronation when people come back

Dave N

Thank you!

Typical web-novel pacing!

Break to multiple chapter coverage of the coronation, diving deep into lore of the ceremonies involved. Follow that with a chapter on Cade wallowing in self pity, then return to Liv, just in time for April 1st and it to be revealed the invasion was all a dream and she's still a girl living in the castle.

*revolved -> revolted or rebelled?

Tarrim

Her mind revolved at it, and she had to fight the sudden urge to empty her stomach onto the steel floor of the room. First phrase needs some work Edit* She let her wrist hand loose, the wand comfortable in her fingers. Hand>hang? Edit 2* Liv contemplating trying to open Contemplating>contemplated

Evil :)

Great fight

I'm thinking that tomorrow we'll see what's happening on the beach from Wren's point of view.
