again it’s your story and I hope you don’t take anything said as real hate as opposed to the passionate criticism it is

I'll start by saying this chapter really helps address the issue I had with Chapter 212 and the power-scaling. It’s a strong chapter that delivers the payoff I’ve been waiting for in her ring count and, even in doing so, pushes the narrative of her being underestimated. At the same time, it also features some natural character interactions that feel like they're properly setting the stage for the plot moving forward. That said though, it still feels like a rebound chapter for me after 212. I continue to dislike that chapter and, admittedly, while completely aware of how entitled it sounds I would advocate for at least a partial rewrite. (It comes from a place of love for the book, of course. Feel free to disagree.) On that note, reading this latest chapter HAS helped me mellow out a bit about how strongly I initially reacted. I just wish there had been some caveats or foreshadowing to explain how poorly thought out everything felt at the meeting. Julianne especially has always been portrayed as someone who's on top of things. Even a single line where Liv notices she doesn’t seem like herself, maybe even remarking how exhausted or disheveled she looks, would go a long way in justifying some of the apparent plot holes and maybe even set up their talk in future chapters. I won’t count out that the lack of urgency and plot holes might also be a plot device in itself though and that Julianne does have a plan behind the scenes. Maybe I’m just overreacting and it’s an even greater setup, but I guess I’ll have to wait in that department.

To be fair, it's the ghosts of Gods. In my mind, it's more about being able to consistently apply her Authority event against someone with decades of training. I'm looking forward to the scene(s) exploring this.

I still feel this is a huge nerf to Liv’s magical ability for the sake of drama, defeating gods and then being outclassed by an archmage. Also, didn’t Liv use a archmage spell already during her fight with Celris? Cel and Luc combined?
