Unfortunately Juriss' deck is entirely relics and the one copy of Mortal Strike by her own admission

Sharrif

RIP Juriss. I genuinely didn’t expect her to die, but I knew that was it for her the moment her strike didn’t kill him. Poor Juriss.

Scarred Ragdoll

Damn, I thought she would have had an escape card in her deck . Without one, her assassin strategy falls apart the moment she can't kill her target in one hit and cards that block a single source of damage are plentiful.

Mostly I'm disappointed at her, not the chapter itself. We've actually seen that she's not that great at hunting before. At least the fight and the not letting the enemy act part of it. She literally let an Epic hit her before. She risked her life because she wanted to test her new armor. We see then that she prefers using Relics and she's proud of her creations... and it gets confirmed here more by making her have a Relic only deck. (Though she did play with the idea of not making a Relic and keeping the Soul in the previous POV chapter. Slight retcon? Or beasts are okay?) Her Soul Ability solidifies the idea that she's something like a Relicsmith. A prideful one. Like, really, the Armor 1 Regen 3 shouldn't have been in this hunt. The common helmet would have been more useful, but she most likely wanted to use her favourite Relics. I think, she was subconsciously expecting another close fight where she risks her life against the strong opponent. One where the Hydra armor would save her again. Just like the fight with the Epic beast. She underestimated her prey. She had no idea how strong a Mythic was, her only experience is hunting and fighting Epics 1v1. And being a jungle person, she's probably uneducated, doesn't know much of duels and she 100% hasn't seen a Relic removal card. She underestimated the enemy's weapon too. She might have thought it wouldn't 1 shot her even when all hints point to a very high damage weapon. I think Targu'Thal also has high Attack on his own Soul or some other abilities that buff his strikes. When Juriss finished her strike, meaning her turn ended, the orc's abilities should have returned. Maybe the casual yapping was to wait for his abilities to come back too.

Damn, didn't expect even one part of this at any time (apart from Hestorus watching). At first I was sad that she's gone, but than I had a new idea: She didn't like people before this, but if the group kills the orcs and retrieves her card they can force her to spend time with her little brother^^. Now kill Gerard, the King and Hull's mother, some slight Source shenanigans and Hull can make a Deck out of his family. Brings a whole new meaning to "Familybuilding"...

Scott Turner

Or equivalent to Basils helm to block damage from a strike

Myrdin

Damn. I didn’t expect Juriss to fail and die. Interesting that Hestorus doesn’t even think that Gerad may be the one to reach legendary. 20 attack axe is crazy

RainbowPhaze

I guess Juriss finally experienced the 'nothing' in her All Or Nothing strategy.

Scott Turner

Kind of disappointed with this chapter, can’t believe she wouldn’t have built something like a negate damage relic to keep in her hand, it’s as if she put in no thought to worst case scenario which makes her a poor hunter going against what she was made out to be

FiveBoxes

Juriss had potential, but she was not as prepared as she assumed she was. I thought she would at least gather some Souls to attack with. A mount would have benefited her too (and I don't think those talk even at Epic). She could also survive for longer and hit harder if she had Life spells that buffed her. But she liked her Relic collection, I guess... she became a walking treasure trove of useful Relics that would fit a bunch of different situations. I imagine her Mythic potentially would have allowed her to equip another Relic. What would her card do now that she's dead, I wonder? She's sort of a Relicsmith and a hunter combined. Also, Hestorus had emotions before but ignores/controls it now for his plans... so I assume he's filled with the special kind of Order source. Even the little psycho, Gerad, could cultivate one, I'd imagine the loco king could do the same multiple times over.

iridium248

That's actually a surprisingly efficient weapon. It's not THAT much more expensive than the Vampire Blade.

Death56

That axe is crazy

Thanks for the chapter!
