You’ll notice this show does a lot of exposition for things you probably already learned on the Vampire Diaries, and it’s bc the writers wanted this show to stand on its own, so people who haven’t watched TVD can still understand it. Also, you might’ve noticed that this ep is pretty similar to the backdoor pilot except that it’s told in Elijah’s perspective, which I think is really cool!

Yeah in my opinion this episode is important even though there are some of the same scences used ! I've seen the show but not with 100% of my attention so I'm happy to watch it along side with you !

oh yay the originals. I'm so here for it! I didn't watch your vampire diaries reactions because I don't like that show as much. I quit watching after a couple of seasons. But the originals is soo great and better in my opinion.
