Finally able to watch. I think Ian way already married to his wife at this point (when google is correct) he is married to Nikki Reed (she played Rosalie in Twilight) and they have a daughter. At the this time Paul was in a relationship with Phoebe Tonkin (who playesHayley). This season gets CRAZY!! This is the first time I've made it back to Season 7 since it first aired. For some reason, I couldn't get passed Season 4. But getting here now, I remember how everyone says that Stefan and Caroline felt so forced and happened so fast. But they really weren't! They've been brewing since Season 4 when they danced at Elena's party. Taking a look back on it now, they seem more organically written than Stefan and Elena were. If you really think about it THEY happened so fast! And Damon and Elena happened fast, considering Elena hadn't been single for a full day. Though, they had been brewing all the way back from Season 1. Anyway, all that to say I can't wait for you to see what's to come!

Ian prefers Damon to be a character like Kai and Katherine - a fun villain that the show doesn't try to redeem or make excuses for. Who stays a villain without falling in love with a girl, or having that define him with a redemption arc. I also believe he doesn't agree with the message that bad guys change when they find the right girl. That's why he likes season 1 Damon and doesn't like Delena very much.
