🕑 Added 2024-11-30 09:49:20 +0000 UTCHi everyone, just letting you know that we're changing up the usual reward structure for Dec & Jan. For a tl;dr skip to the bottom.
Rather than the standard rewards for both months, we will be taking the time to finish up and deliver a single large project that we have been working on for quite some time. The project? A full conversion of The Pill from Unity into Ren'Py.
This is an important step for us in terms of game stability (particularly on Android) and furthering the game's development. It also won't just be a straight port, but will have significant improvements over the current version including:
All existing chapters will be now fully voiced (adding over 1800 lines of VO)
A new tangential chapter will be added (featuring a new transforming gal)
Vastly improved load times
New UI tools such as skipping
New and remade achievements
Reworked and upressed animations for certain chapters
While functionally similar, the game will be running on completely different code and has been remade from scratch. Lady Grove has been working hand in hand on this mammoth undertaking with an unparalleled developer and because of all their hard work so far I am of the opinion this will be the best iteration of The Pill to date.
To be clear: any patron who is billed during either December or January at the Sweater Stretcher or Colossal Contributor tier will be given the game as a reward, however along the way we'll be doing sneak peeks at the new animations and voices, updates on our progress and other behind the scenes items as we finish this game conversion. We may even sneak in a cheeky x-mas vid if we can find the time😉

tl;dr: We're using December and January to finish porting The Pill over to Ren'Py and are adding in a new chapter and a bunch of quality improvements.

I'd be happy to employ others to work on these animations - the main problem is that there is not a big pool of solid animators who are looking to work on other people's NSFW projects. If you're aware of any please let me know - I'd love to get in contact with them.

It is hard for one guy to animate each ending by himself. I don't know if the situation's changed or not, but maybe it would be a good idea to ask for collabs with other animators?

Unfortunately you will need to re-acquire them. Although we're listing this as version 0.7, it is a complete remake that shares no common code with the older versions, including save files.

Just curious about this New and remade achievements does this mean we will need to reacquire the old achievements .

Current plan is to return to the original rewards in Feb but this is a test for potential bigger projects.

Same, didn't join for The Pill (joined for Cursed) but avoided The Pill for the same reason. Huge fan of the Renpy stuff so far, hyped for this revamp and still hyped for additional Change Deck content and expanion projects in the future.

plus ren py seems to me easier to code in ou animate in so it seems that doing the remaining endings will be easier and faster for you personnaly i'm waiting for the day you animate the ending where trish gets to the size of the room in the third chapter

I can confirm that while the girl is new, the story will still link into those events! And we do have a thorough walkthrough already in development, another one of LG's projects.

We're currently looking at putting them into the 'achievements' page rather than the flow of the game itself (just because it may be jarring to have it for some but not others). So they'll be accessible once you do the story arc for it. But getting this into a more reliable language is an incentive for us to get back to doing more of those endings.

Renpy uses typical image and video formats, it is actually easier to include videos into it then unity. Assuming Grove kept the original formatted content it is just scripting the calls for them. Unity uses formats that tend to require conversions into them, mainly to prevent the circumventing of the scripting, which can still be circumvented.

So excited, I initially joined because of The Pill, but never actually played it because the android port didn't play nice with screen resolutions or something.

i don't think they will put them in just yet because be grove and Lady grove said that they would put them in chapter per chapter when they have all the endings for one so i think we will have to wait just a little bit more until they have finished animation the rest which there are not many if i remember correctly

i'm curious since we saw luca get through à portal in the animation and that the chapter has a New transforming girl does it mean that the storyline with finding luca and maybe have her interract with trish and belle is finished ? plus will you add a hint system because certain achèvement like upsetting the machine is hard to get and i have still not got it
