It's hard to trust people. It's hard to talk about your fears. It's even harder to talk about your passions and dreams at times. It's painful to open up about traumatic events and it's scary to give someone the power to use it all against you, everything that you've shared about so openly.
But still, we have to try. For the sake of the genuine connections that'll change our whole perspective on life and people and what the world can feel like when it's filled with hope, kindness and mutual understanding... or at least the willingness to understand. But we have to try. Because if we don't give people that chance, how can we expect that someone would be gracious enough to give us one?
To all my lone wolves and wounded birds, I see you and I'm sending you my big supportive hugs ๐ซ๐ค

Well put! It definitely feels safer to stay guarded and keep people at a distance, but you'll never develop true friendships that way. I'm still kinda learning this myself haha โค๏ธ

Appreciated Solar. I learned LONG ago to just bottle things up, smile, and pretend I'm fine. I've had things used against me so long that I honestly stopped trying to trust people. Instead, I pour myself into trying to help others from feeling what I feel on a daily basis. There's a line of one of my favorite songs that articulates it well. "I'll lift you as I break." That's basically me these days. Still, I appreciate you and all you do, Solar. Thank you for caring about us.
