I've been playing with those Riso brushes too, they are so nice! Lovely work as always Jamie

I never thought about if my city had any magazines! I live in North Carolina and work freelance too. I'm going to have to shoot my city's magazine an email of my Portfolio haha!

I would absolutely love a time-lapse sometime!! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this- that makes SO much more sense in my head now🌹

I use the sketch (the “black and white” layer) as a guide, I draw on top with big shapes, each on a separate layer. I could absolutely post a time lapse video from procreate here on patreon if that will help visualize! Basically I have a lot of layers with a lot of separate assets on them.

So I noticed that all of the trees are all different values etc- but is it all drawn on one layer? Or perhaps a layer for each tree/detail added? I just got the riso brush pack and I’m wondering if I should get the black and white values drawn down first like you did- but I’m just a little unsure about how to go back and add the color in to the black and white piece? Perhaps just an alpha lock on each layer, and I can color them each individually? Sorry I know this makes no sense over text!! Ahaha

Jamie Green

I’m not sure I understand, what do you mean?

Sabrina Gail

How do you go back to color in the black and white sketches??

Jamie, these turned out so well! Long term projects are rewarding but so much less fun than quick turn around editorial jobs and that's hard to get your head around until you're in it. These pieces look great and its good that you could do something with a different focus/pacing!
