I think part of the cost is also because dippin dots need special ultra cooled refrigeration! They have to be kept at super low temps and dippin dots freezers were actually part of the process for developing COVID vaccine storage, which needs to be stored at colder temps than most of your average vaccines. But def agree, it's a pricey frozen treat

Years ago I was in Texas and saw an actual dippin dots store, only one I’ve ever seen. Turned out it was owned by the creator of dippin dots. He explained how they use liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream mixture extremely fast which also results in them forming spheres! Maybe paying for the liquid nitrogen is why dots are always dumbo expensive.

If you're down for a lil roadtrip, Devils Lake State park in Wisconsin Is super cool and has some amazing outdoor climbing. There's also a really amazing hike through a creek in a canyon called "Pewits Nest" in the same area.

I grew up in the Suburbs of Chicago!!! Some things you'd love (Idk which suburb you'll be in so I'll be general): "Vertical Endeavors" the COOLEST climbing gym. I've tried 3 in Boulder Co and VE is better than all of them. It's in Glendale Heights IL. "Starved Rock State Park" VERY COOL park with a great campground!! "Ashbury Coffee Shop" in Willow Spings IL Is a coffee shop owned by Wiccans that does free improv shows every Thursday night!! The comedians are super raunchy and hilarious. We used to go every week when I lived there because its pee-your-pants funny.
