#4 Super Electronics Troubleshooter- Signal Tracing, Following The Signal Through An Amplifier.
🕑 Added 2018-10-02 08:53:16 +0000 UTCIn this video, we check out a 135 Watt Fender tube amplifier. I will talk about things to consider before taking on a job.... To tracing a signal right from the input of the amplifier, all the way to the output. We will use the Forecasting Capacitor Leakage Tester to determine whether to "leave or replace" the capacitors, and much more.
Here is a list of just some of the topics covered in this video:
- "HFFL" or High Flying Filament Leads- Explanation.
- Do amplifiers need a load (speaker) while testing- Explanation.
- Unknown capacitor identification using the Forecasting Leakage Tester.
- Signal tracing tips and tricks to make troubleshooting fast and easy.
- Things to consider before accepting a job (repair)

I'm fairly new to using an oscilloscope, so my question is , what would be about the maximum volts that a person could probe with a X10 probe and not hurt the scope ? Also it would be great if Mr. Carlson could do a video on oscilloscopes talking all about them and what all the controls and stuff are and do. Thank You and 73's, Bob
