You've pretty much hit the nail on the head. Some people tend to stay in relationships and often confuse affection with supplying. Colt naturally takes pleasure in giving and loves to feel needed. Most people would take advantage of a person like this. Amilia may not be taking advantage of him monetarily, but she is definitely messing him up phychologically.
