Job 23:10 "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." It was like 45 years ago and I was going through a bad patch. I found it encouraging. I don't fear dying per se. What I fear is how I die. Don't want insufferable pain. Don't want a long lingering death. I don't want to drown or burn. But I know that even these things will pass, and I will die. But I DO have a sort of nameless dread wherein the science of mental manipulation progresses to the point where they can make me FEEL those fearful deaths over and over without actually killing me.
