When I was a teen I was very into dioramas and my father made a foam cutter for me out of some pipe from a broken hockey net, chopsticks, a spring, some spare wire, and D batteries all duct taped together. As Cam said, it was an extreme fire hazard, but it was cool as hell. I highly recommend getting or making one; you will have a good time cutting foam.
