One of our staff played the worst April Fools joke on our employees about 15 years ago. We had our doctor (yes, we had a doc that our employees could see for free when necessary) give us a bunch of urine specimen cups. We put up a note explaining that, because of new rules from the liquor licensing bureau, we were required to drug test all our employees periodically, and that they were to label their specimen and place the cup on the tray in the dairy refrigerator. A few people, given the clues (the date? Dairy fridge?? Etc) knew immediately that it was a joke, but some became really angry or burst into tears.

The last Thanksgiving I worked as a waitress we literally ran out of food. Cooking burgers and whatever else was left in the freezer. We were one of the only places open and the line was out the door and in the parking lot. Insane. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
