Last time I had a fight with one of those it was on my motorcycle. I won but lost the skin off the top of two of my knuckles when it let go. Lol. Damn that hurt! Funny how good the screwdriver through the middle works. 👍

I've had good luck with my socket that is cast instead of the stamped metal ones. I don't know what the price difference is nowadays though

The three-jaw style ones that go on a socket extension are the only oil filter tools I've had any luck with. Perfect for the terrible filter location on my 2012 WRX.

All manufacturers should sell oil filters with a hex head on the bottom for like a 1 inch or 30mm socket
