DevLog Update

So recently I've dropped a few teaser pictures for the upcoming Revamp v12 but I haven't checked in with an overall status for awhile so today I thought I'd drop a few [too many] paragraphs to give you an update on where things are.
So let's jump in with the usual format.
Writing
So the writing is pretty much done for this one. It's been done for awhile but I was being extra about a few sections. I still need to reread the thing in it's entirety but I think overall, for where things are right now, it looks pretty good. In the video teaser , I did go into more detail about the NSFW shower scene. That scene is a bit more smutty in the Revamp so the writing took a bit more work. As I said in the video, hopefully the writing comes across kinda slutty/passionate and not cringey but writing sex stuff is always difficult to find that balance (at least for me it is).
CGs
So right now the CGs are looking good. I have 228 in my finished folder right now. To be honest, giving a number of finished CGs isn't reflective of progress this time. I had several mistakes with Mikhail's hair and ended up having to rerender about 30 shots 'cause i'm dumb. I'm still in the process of rendering those but they're lumped in with my new images now so it'll be another day or two until I figure out how many total images I have so far but it's probably around 245~ if you're the kinda person that likes stats like that.
The animation is finished and clocked in at 431 frames. It's way smoother than the original animation and has better lighting. If you haven't seen any of the teaser pics, you can find them here and here. Overall, way more CGs with expressions during the conversation, some pretty subtle but powerful positioning changes for the characters to make them more realistic-- as well as try and keep the reader visually engaged during long conversations. This update, for those of you that read the original, has a lot of setup for v13 so expect that. But there's also some really stunning visual shots in this update that I'm happy with.
Right now, I'm working on the last half of one very short scene then I have one more conversation scene to do and a third scene that I'm not even sure what to do yet (I've been putting it off for awhile just to get other things done before I looked at it).
So I'm at the tail end of things. One scene involves the pool and I've been trying to do something interesting with the lights in there but it hasn't panned out well yet. I'm still optimistic so I'm just checking other things off the list until I get back to that scene (hopefully later today is my goal).
Release Date
So far I'm feeling pretty optimistic about a July release sometime. The scenes I have left are complicated to start with but once I get going on them, the pics should roll out pretty quickly. It's just a lot of work upfront. After I get those done, I'll be coding all the images in then bug hunting and finally botting things up for the first time.
I feel pretty good about it so far so stay tuned.

Thanks for keeping us posted! With what you've shared to date, I'm soooooo very anxious to see, but take your time your work is worth the wait...!

"I thought I'd drop a few [too many] paragraphs" I count ten. "War and Peace" ran to 1225 pages in the first edition (I couldn't find how many paragraphs, but I'm guessing comfortably over thirty). Somewhere between one and thirty seems not unreasonable for an update. More if you need 'em. "'cause i'm dumb" Okay, I'll concede that 'I' should be capitalised, but I wouldn't say that indicates a lack of intelligence (which I presume is what you're implying: I've heard you speak); simply a typo or an 'i don't give a fuck,' either of which are legitimate. Don't, however, make me look over my glasses at you: that is not something anyone needs to experience. It also makes you all blurry, which is weird. The more someone says shit like "I'm dumb", the more it gets in and you start to believe it. And that, sir, I will not stand for! (Also, this may be a sugar high, or my autism playing up, or both. Ask me again tomorrow and I'll probably talk about the Bauhaus or something. Not because it's related, just because I looked through a book of modernist architecture an hour ago.) I hope it's warmer there than it is here.
