The work on the next update continues, and we’ll get to it in a moment, but for now I’d like to address the latest poll. This one - https://www.patreon.com/posts/visual-upgrade-49159514 I know some of you reading this don’t have access to it, but please bear with me. Basically, the poll is about moving from this:

There were a lot of comments suggesting the various solutions to the furniture update. Most of the suggestions could be summed up as “make an event out of it.” I hear you, folks, but the basic structure of the game just won’t let me make a “more furniture” event. Maybe I wasn’t clear on that, but the storylines are mostly uncoupled from each other. I can make a story event adding more furniture, sure, and then make sure that all new personal events require the completion of this one, but it doesn’t solve the main problem.
The main problem is, you can ignore any of the girls’ personal storylines and just push through the main events. So if I make the “more furniture” event, you’ll be able to finish it, and then start an early event that still lacks this new furniture in the renders.
I really don’t want to make the story sync issues worse than they are right now (believe me, there are plenty of issues in there already), so if we’re adding furniture, it’s going to be a full-on retcon. I’ll just add said furniture, and will pretend it was there all along.
HOWEVER. This approach is not as bad as you might think. First of all, most of the in-house rooms don’t need any new furniture at all. There are only a few really bare spaces in the house. The huge living/room/kitchen space, and the halls. Even then, the second floor hall is sorta alright.
At the moment, we’ve only added a few items, all seen here:
There will be a bit more, but again, not much more. So if I’m only changing the Big Space and the first floor hall, most events won’t need to be updated at all. And the ones that do need to be updated are either:
a) So old and ugly they are scheduled for a remaster already
or
b) Were made after we introduced the improved workflow, and the new renders with the furniture added can be done in a hour or two
So let me reiterate. You folks seem to want the furniture update. I’ll probably have a go at it after the next update is out. The furniture is going to be retconned, it’ll just appear in the background of some renders, and will be lacking from others. Then we’ll update all the affected events within a few months.
And another HOWEVER. I have a feeling that you folks want the environment to change to get that progression feel. I get that, totally. Most of the girls’ rooms are only used for their own event chains, so there’s much less room for any possible sync issues. I’ll try adding some items to the rooms as the stories progress.
And now a few words on the other poll options. You lot seemed to like the “pretty” lighting setup, so I’ll start using the more dramatic lighting from now on. Older scenes waiting for a remaster will get the same treatment.
As for the new postFX stack, alright, got it, not that good. I still kinda like it, so I’ll tone it way down from this:

And I’ll try to do a couple of scenes that way. If y’all still don’t like it, I’ll remove the effects from said scenes and will return to the older stack.
Now to the actual update content. We’re working on it. I don’t really have anything new to show off just yet. The postFX test scene above isfap from one of the new events. Here’s a shot from another scene:

I still think the PostFX stack would look better with a radial blur to the bloom instead of the stripey anamorphic thing going on there, but that may just be a matter of taste, preferring a look more like how the eye would scatter the light instead of how a camera lens would.

Didn't even think of the issues an event explaining the furniture would cause 😅 A retcon is more than fine man, I just appreciate the motivation to keep making this game better (than it already is).
