I wrote a script yesterday to convert all materials into an Ambient Occlusion material to render an image I can use in post to give my renders a little bit more depth. My renderer doesn't have a proper built in feature for this, but now that I have this out of the way, it'll come in handy for all future works. Especially collisions benefit from this pass.
Today I worked on lighting. The render above is where I am currently at. I think it could do with a little bit more contrast ... I'll play around with that tomorrow.
I've rendered a full resolution version as well and did a little bit of post-processing on it to get a better idea. That's what the 20$ post, following this one, is about.
Here's stuff that still needs to be done:
add cum
add panties
make butthole more visible
make wood texture more stylized and less stretched

Thanks! :D I could do a better job of sticking to the artstyle though. I don't think I'm matching it very well on the custom objects.
It's kinda crazy how quickly you're reaching that uncanny valley effect with the level of detail and lighting adding to that realism quality. Starting to look less like an animation and more like a cinematic cut scene out of Blizzard's stuff, if not even better looking!

I Just thought that I would throw in my two cents on that. I believe it's due to their odd proportions, and how obvious that is when you see them completely nude. Think about their long legs in relation to their short torsos. I guess most people will be put off by it when it is emphasized and made too apparent. Personally I prefer them in their clothes with lewd areas open (their outfits are awesome I think). I will say though that in something like the cowgirl animation with widow you could pull it off without it looking odd. Due to it being a pov style facing the viewer, you only see certain parts of her body. I think in most if not all situations, a full body angle would look strange indeed. And yes, this is looking great! :D

Suh-weet! I'm a programmer, but that script you wrote looks mostly like gibberish to me (I'm learning), you wrote that up all by your lonesome? Also, a non-Mercy related question: Why aren't there any completely naked D.Va models out there? She's always wearing her mechsuit (or an alternate skin). Come to think of it, I haven't seen many completely nude OW models, Mercy included.
