"Flesh and Blood" Adventure
🕑 Added 2022-11-07 15:38:50 +0000 UTCHeyo! In this week's video, I write a whole adventure for 5e. It's called Flesh and Blood. You can download it here, although I'm not sure how much good it'll do you, since it requires Tome of Beasts III to play, which isn't out yet π It's for a dedicated sponsored video promoting the book.
If anyone has suggestions for good replacement monsters (as-written or even reskinned) that would enable folks to play this adventure without the supplement, I'd love to hear 'em! Animated offal is CR 9 (something like an undead ooze), offal walker is CR 1 (its key trait is the ability to do a ranged grapple, then pull the target towards them), and swarm of vampire blossoms is CR 3 (most important feature here is that it remain disguised until it attacks). The NPC character here is an atavist (basically a mutant that can turn their body into a weapon; not a spellcaster).
While of course the adventure requiring TOB3 to play is intentional for the YouTube video, I'd love for Patrons at least to be able to play this without investing in a separate book. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with the zillion official D&D monsters to know how to replace these without doing many hours of research!

Happy to help!! Good luck with the session!

No way. Tonight I planned for my group to tackle a zombie infested little town, accosted by an evil necromancer. Now I'm even more inspired. I will steal the idea for Necrotic Ring location, for sure. Thanks!

That's not just cool. That's AWESOME! Congrats.

You're so very welcome!!

I wrote an adventure for Animal Adventures: The Faraway Sea, too, but otherwise you've got the full list! (And that ones pretty specific to the Animal Adventures setting, haha.) I'm working on a bigger, longer project based on my D&D in a Castle mini-campaign, but it has proven to be a pretty big undertaking, so it's not ready yet! Also, I will say, both Songs to Drown Sailors To and Bard Behind Bars were written collaboratively with other DMs, and this one is my first self-published adventure written entirely by me! SO THAT'S COOL!!

What a nice little adventure. Thanks Ginny!

Just wanted to say that I really like your adventures! Songs to Drown Sailors To and Bard Behind Bars are great fun! Look forward to trying this one. Are there any others you've written that I missed?

It may be a while. Our first session is the Monday before Thanksgiving and we're starting at level 1.

Oh man this is awesome, definitely going to work this into the duet campaign Iβm playing with my wife. Perfectly fits the kind of Buffyesque mystery monster of week vibe that Iβm trying to cultivate. Anyone have recommendations for limited use magical items that could be discovered during initial investigations that might make the encounters more feasible for a loan monk?

Fantastic π

Let me know how it goes!! I haven't had the chance to run it yet!

All fantastic ideas that I will look into, thank you so much!!

Hope you like it!! It's very gross! haha

You are so talented oh my god. I will very likely use this when my party hits L5.

You could probably substitute a choker for the offal walker, and just use its tentacles to grapple. The closest to an undead ooze at that level I could find is an elder oblex, which is CR 10. You could just add the False Object feature to a swarm of scarabs for a CR 3 swarm.

Sounds awesome definitely sound like a Horror Dnd adventure Iβm intrigued and canβt wait to check it out
