Animal Crossing: New Horizons Playable!
🕑 Added 2020-04-14 23:02:36 +0000 UTCGood day Patrons! We’ve got another exciting update for you – we’re now booting Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and it’s working pretty well! You can expect the game to be fairly playable at reasonable performance on good hardware! Coupled with our very recent Memory Manager release, you can also expect this game to use a very manageable amount of RAM!
As a disclaimer, we have not tested this game end-to-end, and there are still several obvious graphical glitches. This game is also not working well on our Vulkan renderer, so AMD performance will be sub-par.
Instructions
- Update to the latest yuzu Early Access build.
- Install any update to Animal Crossing. At this time, the base game does not boot. However, any subsequent update (e.g. Animal Crossing v1.1.0 through v1.1.4) will work. If you need help installing the update, see these instructions.
- Add this patch (attached to this post) to Animal Crossing’s "mod" folder in yuzu. This is currently necessary to get past an initial crash on boot. Add this mod by right-clicking Animal Crossing in your game list, clicking "Open Mod Data Location", next simply extract the patch into this directory, formatting is as shown in the example below:
- That’s all! Animal Crossing should boot and be playable! If you experience any crashes, we highly recommend that you turn OFF real-time audio. This can be changed by going to Emulation → Configure → Audio, and unchecking "Enable real-time audio". We also highly recommend that you use the OpenGL renderer at this time.
This is hot off the press, and as such – we haven’t really had enough time to test the game fully and fix common issues. The above patch was discovered by ogniK5377, one of yuzu’s resident reverse-engineering experts. We’re still working on a better solution to not need this modification, and hopefully will have a proper fix soon!
We hope you enjoy playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons in yuzu, and please let us know how it works for you! Expect there to be minor bugs – but hopefully these do not hinder gameplay too much. We’re working actively on fixing these issues, so expect improvements in the coming days in yuzu Early Access and mainline builds soon thereafter!

Make sure you've dumped your own switch's title and prod.keys properly. Check the log for yuzu if you aren't sure what is wrong: AppData\Roaming\yuzu\log
Can play, but speed is at 50% during cutscenes. Overall, tolerable. :D
im stuck at launching game portion. no sure what the issue. running 1.14 v and have place the Mod file correctly

EA 404 - Had some good success with Sonic Team Racing. Started up, got to race track and looked good but couldn't race. Controls not responding. Well done though!! (UPDATE) since 417, I can play now. Cool beans!

Works great. I was able to make a new character and so did my wife on separate profiles. But when I try to "Call Resident", it says there's no one available to call. Any help on this? Im not sure if it's just not detecting a 2nd controller or what

hey, im new to yuzu... i have the game running in open gl with real time audio off. i have i 7 9 gen and rtx 2070..... the game is chugging super hard.... like cant get above 18-22 fps.... looking for any tips to get my fps up

Same problem as some others. 1.14 or any other.. mod in.. every setting the same. It worked ONCE.. then the % now just kicks in to high gear and nothign

Works pretty good. It's the early days so I know there's going to be some bugs. I notice at least for me the game crashes a lot if the game autosaves while a text box is up or the phone is open. Anyone else confirm?

Hi.All my game versions appear 1.0.0 but they are all different from v1.00 to v1.1.4.How come ?
It works for me! But it is quite slow (15 fps). And my tent doen't get constructed and disappear from my inventory.. It does the same thing with v1.1.4 and v1.1.1.

Vulken seems to be broken in this release, works on OpenGL but No games will launch on Vulken and emu freezes - Update - fixed in build 367 - Thanks

This works very well on Radeon 555x! The beginning is nice until he Island arive. Then it is graphical issues and lower FPS.
