Patreon Only Video: DTG Setup Tour
🕑 Added 2024-10-04 17:22:56 +0000 UTCToday I've got a bonus video for you - I break down the specifics of my filming setup, my turntables, my bass, and the records and books behind me, of course, with a few stories along the way. If you've ever had a specific question about my setup, this is the video you've been looking for.
I'll be back next week with a regular video, and... let's just a say an irregular one after that 🤫

What about the iconic black t-shirt?! Are you a brand loyalist? I know as a fellow largeman it's not easy to find "the one" :P

So you are saying, it is playing the sound from the groove of the controller vinyl, just like with a real vinyl, yes?
Brandon Shaw
The difference is subtle. But I definitely like it better!

I have ortofon needles, initially just the basic ones but they sent me the red ones cuz they’re specifically for control vinyl.
Brandon Shaw
That is indeed a backdrop
Brandon Shaw
Fortunately, yes haha

An RME babyface pro - it handles a lot of processing on the unit itself instead of the computer, so there's no lag, which I need for the live monitoring in the room

That's just the actual sound of manipulating the audio file, if you were to turn the turntable off and just slowly rotate it you'd get a slowed down effect too. That's happened on a livestream when I accidentally turned off the turntable haha

Like to see an EvolOfGreat of Brandon, starting with the 10 year old uprightElectric lessons... : ) I hope the tooth fared better than the chip in the bass?

Is the brickwall back, real or virtual?
Josh Nelson
Which audio interface do you use?

Is this the week when "all is revealed"?❤️
Josh Nelson
At minute 4:18 as you're explaining Serato: When you back pull the controller vinyl, how is the scratch sound of a real record simulated in this system, as if it's a really "pull back"?
Cameron Mead

Nice! And I’d always wondered how control vinyl works, but not enough to look it up, so thanks for that bit 😀

I have an OC-3 pedal and I have never really loved it, I gotta try the OC-2 sometime

From someone who neither DJs nor plays bass: I enjoyed it, fun to watch and I learned a few things :)
