Basically, Hokusai and Gogh wandered for a while before going to Norwitch and getting hired by Spriggan as artists. They recovered the memories because Spriggan recognized Hokusai, and then left after the calamity struck and joined back with Chaldea.
Probably need to draw a scene where Hokusai suggests to draw Castoria nude in order to raise up the popularity of the child of prophecy.

the joke is that Spriggan claims to be an art savoir but can't be bothered to like Van Gogh's works.

he's from the Edo period but managed to get into a boat to England so he probably was from the 1800-1868, Hokusai was already towards the end of his life by then and Van Gogh became famous post-mortem so yeah Spriggan was most likely familiar with Hokusai's works.

Rule number 1 when asking any eldtrich being a favor: Never ask for anything out of this world. You aren't ready for it. No one will ever be ready for the sheer brilliance, (translation: insanity), of the those not bound by this veil of reality. Seriously though, I'm glad you did this comic. I really hated that slimy son of bitch, Spriggan, for obvious reasons and him getting crushed was ok, it wasn't cathartic. Too quick even, just to show how shit things went after Part 3 of the Lostbelt kicked into high gear. This, however... Oh this was a pleasure to read. For it is Shakespearean in nature to see the arrogant fall to their own hubris, and none deserved a fate like this than Spriggan. Great job, Clinick! Side note: I know the Bulging eyes on Goghie is supposed to be for the sketch, I think, but I fund it adorably funny how big they are. Too cute :3
