Quinlar // Finished HOFAS + my opinions on it

Hunt is bae <3
Don't read the rest of this post if you haven't finished House of Flame and Shadow!

I just finished House of Flame and Shadow yesterday.
i wont go into plot spoilers here, but lets just say there were moment i enjoyed, and moments i... didn't enjoy. the plot wrapped up nicely, the overall story was good, but i actually hit a slog around the 2/3rd mark. ive never hit a slog before in a sjm book. where sarah usually excels, which is characters and relationships, that was the biggest let down - quinlar used to be my favourite, but im just not a fan of how terribly bryce treats hunt, and that he lets her walk all over him.
hoeab remains the best book in the series, and im sad that i did not enjoy quinlar's relationship as much in this book. you know its rough when your favourite part is a bonus chapter that wasnt even part of the book.
final rating, 3.5 stars ⭐ (im quite harsh with my stars hah) it did make me cry, there were MANY parts i enjoyed, but ultimately it didnt have that Maas magic that usually leaves me unable to put down the book.

Now that you’ve finished with CC3, what’s in your TBR? I thought I saw you saying you wanted to read TOG, but I would LOVE if you’d read Fourth Wing. I NEED you to draw us some Violence and Xaden content.

I was really hoping for more character interaction with the acotar folks. Also Nesta didn't seem like her usual b*tchy self.
