I just feel like an orthopedic surgeon gave you that skateboard to restore because he has boat payments and ankles aren't going to just wreck themselves.

Hey Cory, My approach has always been to use a good 2k clear using no thinner so as to keep the chance of solvent attack on the vinyl to a minimum, But as always when dealing with paint there is no hard and fast rule and test pieces should always be done just to make sure you're not going to have issues. Once bit of advice i can give you though is the moment before you clear the decal make sure there is no dirt, stray hair etc etc as once the clear is on you cant fix it like you could with normal base and clear, Ive had a couple of big jobs ruined by a stray bit of crud clinging to a crucial parts of a decal :(

A little off topic but what prep or caution to recommend for clearing over decals? I’m doing a bike frame restore and I want to protect the vinyl logos so planned to clear over them. Any concern with that approach I should prepare for?
