I Think Its About Time
🕑 Added 2022-12-29 01:18:03 +0000 UTCSo with a few projects coming up that it would be advantageous to have a highly durable coating applied to it I thought this year is the year the shop gets an oven for doing high temp cures not only for powder coating but also cerakote applications too, particularly there clear coat for protecting bare metal finishes as the brushed finish on my 1098 swingarm could do with a little tidy up and re-protecting the bare alloy is a must, anyway I'm getting off topic... as usual. so I thought what better time to make one of my silly blueprints to give you all an idea of what I plan to build ( There will be a patron only video showing my build process ). I plan on doing this as cheaply as possible so all of the heating parts and controls will be sourced from old ovens as will the glass for the doors, the cabinet will as you probably guessed be an old office cabinet the appropriate size to take at least a 20" rim I cant imagine I'll be powder coating anything bigger than that and if I am it will be going to a industrial blaster/powder coater to be cleaned and prepped anyway as my blasting set up wont be able to handle anything any bigger. so that's one of the many projects I have planned for the new year. Great minds think alike because I've been thinking about that exact problem and I think im going to build it then run a test to see if i have and how bad the hot spots are and then come up with a solution my first idea was to fit a fan externally that draws air from top and puts it back in the bottom at opposing corners to eliminate the hot spots so we'll see how that pans out.

Maybe I’m just speaking out of turn, but does it make a difference in this case if you have a sort of baffle over the heating elements? I’m thinking it may prevent hot spots and aid in more evenly distributing the heat with the fan. Louvers or slots in the plate… Only because I have considered doing something very similar. Your design is very similar to what I drew up with that one exception. Never did build it. You’ll see similar baffles in gas grills, just smaller.
