🕑 Added 2025-06-21 13:00:10 +0000 UTCVersion 0.03 just dropped a couple of days ago — and I’m already getting tons of feedback. Thank you so much to everyone who's been testing, commenting, criticizing, and showing love! Your support really helps me grow as a developer and storyteller.
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room:
Yes, everyone is saying “Mat is annoying, whiny, and just an overall unpleasant guy.”
And you know what? YES. That’s exactly the point.
Mat is a pathetic, passive, self-absorbed nerd who's slowly wrecking his own relationship because he refuses to grow up or face reality.
And yes, I based him on myself. Maybe even made him a little worse than me 😁
But that’s why the game is called "Stepping Over Oneself".
This is a story about someone who either learns to change — or loses everything.
It's about swallowing your pride, facing your fears, and doing the hard inner work to save what matters before it's too late.
So yeah, I get that some of you dislike Mat. But that’s the whole point.
This isn’t a fantasy about being the perfect boyfriend — it’s a messy, raw journey through failure, miscommunication, and maybe... redemption.
Right now I’m collecting all your feedback to improve everything in version 0.04 — more meaningful choices, better pacing, stronger emotional scenes, and yeah… maybe a little more spice 🔥

I like this game but I'd like to see the option for a possible lasting positive turn around for MC. Seems like you can choose for him to try to improve the relationship but then he just turns around and messes up again. I'd like to see choices that allow him to actually clean up his act.
