I agree, I think there could be more description of the "antechamber" before the actual Qi Void chamber. Are there five entrances to the Qi Void center room, and the little entrance rooms have the qi alignment from the trial chamber they're attached to? It's probably not one ring of empty space around the void room, but we don't really know, maybe all the disciples will end up in the same room. Are there walls to the void room, or is it just open space in the middle? A doorway?

Sean Shivers

In basically no story is sect master the strongest. It's... A political position, if anything. The founding patriarch is often the strongest... Or if they aren't around the hidden masters. Cultivators with real strength don't waste their time pushing paper.

Edmund C.

So the position of sect master isn’t necessarily given to the strongest in the sect. Also, to clarify, the qualification of a Doaist Master is entering the 3rd realm, yes? And direct/core disciples are still in the second?

Thank you for the chapter, truly your writing is better than most. But still... POST QUICKER!!!

Nùmenor

Thank you for the chapter. This chapter added depth to your cultivation system in a very natural way. Great job!

Tian pays back his debts, Elder Rui is in for a good position down the line.

I don't know if it's just me but I had a hard time understanding what was happening at first : I thought this chapter was telling us that the Null cavern was very qi rich and very pure all of a sudden instead of a void, and I only got it when I finished the chapter and went back to the beginning... "Clearing" the water cavern and exiting it the first time makes it so that this specific trial is over, meaning that it's okay to sleep and that the qi is "purified" from water to neutral. I think my misunderstanding stemmed from Grandpa Jun using only "here" and "there", and Tian feeling disoriented even when he steps back into the water cavern (I thought he just took a little step back and stayed in the Null cavern), that no longer has water aligned qi... Still, I got it in the end and if others find it clear enough it could have just been my mistake. Thanks for the chapter as always!

Oh definitely. Manipulative doesn't have to mean harmful or evil. Manipulation means to influence, direct or control someone or something to your aim. Technically telling your kid they should clean their room or they don't get to play is Manipulation. The term is just usually associated with Manipulation with malicious intent.

If elder Rui remakes the outer court to be more like Tian’s temple that seems like a good thing

Michael

Exciting progress! Direct Disciples hmm? I can see it... before Tian moves on to even grander things muahaha

Rischirobi
